About us
The Arab Lawyers Association (ALA), founded in 2018, is the leading global organisation for the Arab legal profession. We are dedicated to promoting and advancing the global Arab legal profession among professionals from all backgrounds connected to the Arab legal world.
Since the ALA's launch event at the UK House of Lords in 2019, we have organised various events and built strategic partnerships, including with LexisNexis Middle East. Most recently, the ALA set up its first international chapter in Switzerland and we are now targeting expansion in the Middle East.
As outlined in our constitution, the ALA's objectives are as follows:
1. To promote and develop the global Arab legal profession among professionals from all backgrounds connected to the Arab legal world.
2. To offer its members professional development, networking, and social opportunities by holding events throughout the year to encourage business.
3. To encourage and support aspiring lawyers with networking opportunities, workshops and advice.
4. To work with and support organisations that promote justice, equal rights and the rule of law.
5. To champion diversity within the legal profession.
6. To maintain a strict policy of non-bias regarding political or religious affiliations.
